The Port of Sept-Îles (PSI) has announced that Ms. Alexandra Chouinard has stepped down from her position as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective April 16. She succeeded longtime chief executive Pierre D. Gagnon in August 2025.
Joël Chouinard, Vice President, Finance and Information Technology, will serve as Interim CEO throughout the recruitment process aimed at identifying the best candidate to ensure business continuity and support the Port’s development, in alignment with the organization’s values and culture.
“Mr. Chouinard, a tax specialist by training and an employee of the Port of Sept-Îles, has the full confidence of the Board of Directors to maintain ongoing operations during this transition period,” said Bernard Lynch, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Port of Sept-Îles.
In a comment she wrote on her Linkedin page, Ms. Chouinard stated: “It is now time to turn a new page, guided by my ambitions, inspired by my convictions, and true to my values and leadership, so that I can continue to build and make a lasting impact. Stay tuned.”
In her post, she evoked the “inspiring exchanges” she enjoyed while working for “this jewel” (fleuron) that is the Port of Sept-Îles.
