Daniel Dagenais of NEAS appointed new Chair of Green Marine International Board of Directors

Québec City – Green Marine International (GMI) held the first meeting of its new Board of Directors during GreenTech 2026 in Québec City earlier this month, following the election of its members at the Annual General Meeting on May 27, 2026. The organization is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Dagenais, President and CEO of the NEAS Group Inc., as Chair, as well as three new Directors: Erik Varela, Executive Director of the Illinois International Port District, Kristin Decas, CEO of the Port of Hueneme, and Fulvio Fracassi, President and CEO of the Halifax Port Authority.

Green Marine International extends its sincere appreciation to outgoing Chair Stephanie Jones Stebbins, Manager – Maritime, Port of Seattle, and to Claudine Couture Trudel, Vice President, ESG Policy and Future Initiatives, QSL, whose departure marks the end of six years of valuable contribution to the program’s governance and evolution.

The new Board of Directors can rely on a wide range of expertise from the marine, port, logistics, and transportation sectors. Along with the newly elected Chair and members, it includes Jan Allman (Fincantieri), Björn Bijma (CSL Group), Frédéric Bouteille (CMA CGM), Isabelle Brassard (Fednav), Christophe Mathieu (Brittany Ferries), Capt. Minas Myrtidis (MSC Cruises), and Sean Pierce (Logistec).

What sets GMI’s Board of Directors apart is not only the expertise gathered around the table, but the degree of commitment. With diverse backgrounds and perspectives, Board members advance the organization’s strategic thinking. This strong engagement is a reminder that progress in sustainable development is built collectively, with ambition, trust and rigour.

“Continual improvement in environmental performance requires clear leadership at the highest level of organizations,” David Bolduc, Green Marine International’s President and CEO, said. “It is by setting the tone, mobilizing teams, and providing them with the means to act that lasting progress becomes possible.”
