The Port of Sept-Îles (PSI) announces that it was awarded the prize for ‘Best Dry Bulk Port 2024’ on November 25 at an International Bulk Journal (IBJ) ceremony in Antwerp, Belgium.
Before more than five hundred stakeholders from the global maritime industry, PSI’s bid was singled out from among nominations from major ports in the United Kingdom, the Arab Emirates and Belgium.
The IBJ Awards are seen as a tribute to excellence in the maritime bulk industry, recognising outstanding achievement and innovation by world-class companies in more than twenty categories.
The unique, innovative and world-class nature of the multi-task quay’s port infrastructure was particularly recognised. With its unique service offering, innovative financial package, and efficiency enabling its users in the iron ore industry to compete with major producers in Brazil and Australia, the Multiusager dock is now shining on the international stage.
“It took unwavering determination, daring and deep conviction on the part of all the organisation’s resources for the operation and completion of the largest port project in Canada at the time to earn the entire team and the Board of Directors this great international recognition almost 15 years ago,” commented Pierre D. Gagnon, President and CEO of the Port of Sept-Îles.
