Port of Vancouver container traffic dips in 2022

Statistics released by the Port of Vancouver for 2022 cargo traffic show total container traffic down 3.3% at 3.5 million 20ft equivalent units (TEUs). Canada’s largest port handled 3.7 million TEUs in 2021.

For 2022, full import containers dropped by 4% to 1.8 million units while full export containers declined by 20% to 703,005 units.

Empty import containers fell by  37% to 9,235 TEUs and empty export containers increased by 15% to just over one million units,
