Nantes, France – Neoline, a pioneer company in low‑carbon wind‑powered shipping, announces a one‑year (renewable) partnership with Montship, which will act as liner services and port agent for Neoliner Origin in Halifax (CAN).
This partnership also extends the Neoline offer to Montreal and Toronto through a rail connection represented by Montship Inc. and operated by Canadian National Railway (CN). Neoliner Origin’s first call in Halifax will take place on June 22nd, 2026.
Neoline operates an innovative ro‑ro cargo vessel, Neoliner Origin, an industrial‑scale commercial ship equipped with 3,000 m² of sails. Thanks to its primary wind propulsion, it enables up to 80% emissions reduction compared with a similar vessel running only on fossil fuels.
Neoline’s objective is to decarbonize maritime transport without compromising international standards of reliability, safety, or logistical performance.
As the local agent in Canada, Montship will handle the operational management of Neoliner Origin’s port calls in Halifax, coordinating port operations, ship services, regulatory formalities, as well as passenger embarkation and disembarkation. Thanks to its local presence and in‑depth knowledge of the North American market, Montship Inc. also becomes a key commercial relay to support the growth of Neoline’s first sail‑powered roll‑on/roll‑off cargo vessel.
“We are thrilled to partner with Neoline, an organization that mirrors our passion for sustainable progress,” said Scott Pichette, President at Montship Inc. “Sustainability isn’t just a goal for us; it is a fundamental part of how we operate and support our people. We look forward to a future of shared success and meaningful impact.Together, Montship and Neoline are committed to delivering innovative solutions that prioritize the planet, growth of international trade and the communities we serve. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for Montship Inc., aligning with our core pillars of Sustainability and People-First Operations.”
