German ocean carrier Hapag-Lloyd has announced a new General Rate Increase (GRI) – effective March 1 – from India and Pakistan to Canada’s West Coast and to U.S. ports on the East Coast, West Coast & Gulf Coast.
The Hamburg-based shipping line will increase its rates by US$1,000 per container for cargo transported in 20’ and 40’ dry, reefer and special containers, including high cube equipment.
The rate adjustment will apply to all containers gated in full from 1 March 2024 and will be valid until further notice, according to a Hapag-Lloyd customer advisory.
