CSL Group’s Guillaum Dubreuil appointed Chairman of St. Lawrence Shipoperators

Québec City – In a context of weakened logistics chains, domestic maritime transport is of the utmost importance, reaffirmed the members of the board of directors of the association representing Quebec ship operators, Armateurs du Saint-Laurent. At a meeting of the directors of Armateurs du Saint-Laurent held in the Magdalen Islands, they updated their action plan for the coming year and appointed Guillaum Dubreuil, Director of Government and External Affairs for the CSL Group, as the new Chairman of the Board.

“This is a pivotal moment for Quebec’s domestic shipping industry. The pandemic has revealed the importance, but also the complexity of our logistics chains, as well as the essential role played by the maritime sector. We must now develop innovative solutions to the challenges facing our sector, such as labour shortages, decarbonisation, cohabitation with marine mammals and the multiple and sometimes contradictory regulations emanating from various levels of government on both sides of the border. I am honoured that my colleagues have placed their trust in me to move these issues forward, and I am pleased to continue the momentum started by Mr. Le Guellec,” said Mr. Dubreuil.

Mr. Dubreuil succeeds Serge Le Guellec, who was Chairman of the Board of Directors for more than three years and who has chosen to pass the torch. Mr. Dubreuil joined the Canada Steamship Lines team nearly four years ago, after having worked for several years at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. He has also served on several boards of directors during his career, including those of the Regroupement des jeunes chambres de commerce du Québec (RJCCQ), which he chaired for two years, as well as those of the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec (FCCQ) and the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC).

“It is with great pride that we welcome Guillaum as Chairman of the Board of ASL. The association has done a great job in recent years with Serge Le Guellec on board. I would like to sincerely thank him for his dedication, his listening skills, his support and his commitment to ASL and the entire maritime industry. We look forward to continuing to work with our new President to develop a strong association committed to its members and to the benefit of the entire Quebec maritime community,” said Louise Bédard, Executive Director of Armateurs du Saint-Laurent
