Montreal-based Logistec has become a global logistics operator, with 85 terminals in Canada and the U.S., from the Arctic to the Gulf of Mexico, and internationally with representatives in Istanbul, Shanghai, South Korea, Mexico and soon Brazil, says its CEO Sean Pierce.
“We’ve done a lot of work in expanding our reach,” Mr. Pierce told at an American Association of Port Authorities audience – summing up what Logistec does as “moving cargo on and off ships and trains,” and dealing with bulk and over-sized cargo like windmill blades. “It’s that simple.”
While Logistec is in expansion mode, Mr. Pierce admits that “tariffs have taken a bite out of our revenues, especially in moving steel.”
“So we know about the importance of resilience and redundancy to be able to withstand disruption in the supply chain,” he said.
