The Montreal Port Authority today released its vision and Strategic Plan 2023-2027, which will guide the Port of Montreal’s future actions and objectives for the next five years.
The MPA’s Strategic Plan 2023-2027 is structured around six main priorities, namely innovation and mobilization of its personnel, community relations, asset management, competitiveness, decarbonization and completing the expansion project in Contrecœur.
“The MPA’s Strategic Plan 2023-2027 was built and carried out in a spirit of inclusion, openness and listening,” said Martin Imbleau, President and Chief Executive Officer. “We are not in a process of breaking away from what we have done in the past, but of moving forward, seeking to build the future on a more solid foundation. The major priorities we have identified will enable us to fulfill our fundamental role as a public service and to sustainably link communities.”
It is worth recalling that this plan was the result of an unprecedented participatory process in the history of the Port of Montreal. To gather a wide range of opinions and comments, an online consultation platform was opened and individual and group meetings with numerous Port of Montreal stakeholders were organized throughout 2022. In total, more than 400 contributions were received from the general public as well as from stakeholders in the academic, industrial, institutional, community and business sectors, as well as from First Nations.
