Quebec City – Ocean Group reiterates its commitment to the Foundation of the CHU de Québec, with the second edition of Respire, a fundraising event aimed at renewing the fleet of respirators for neonatal critical care at the Centre mère-enfant Soleil of the CHU de QuébecUniversité Laval. Ocean Group is proud to donate $300,000 to the Fondation du CHU de Québec.
The fundraiser ended on a high note on the evening of September 21 with a cocktail reception at Monsieur Jean’s hotel, where Gordon Bain, founder and Chairman of the Board, and Jacques Tanguay, President and CEO of Ocean Group, welcomed the Quebec business community.
In 2012, Ocean Group concluded the first edition of Respire by donating $220,000 to the Foundation of CHU de Québec. As part of Ocean Group’s 50th anniversary festivities, and in conjunction with the Foundation, forces have come together to put on a second edition, sincerely embracing the cause of sick children.
“There’s no better cause than helping sick children in need. Ocean Group is an organization that is involved in its community and doesn’t hesitate to get involved. We were there for the Foundation of the CHU de Québec in 2012, and we’ve been there again more than ten years later. We’re very proud of that,” said Mr. Tanguay.
“The respirator fleet at the Centre mère-enfant Soleil de Québec needs to be renewed, and since the cause of sick children is particularly dear to our hearts, it was only natural for us to become more closely involved. We are delighted to once again be associated with the Foundation of the CHU de Québec as a partner, and to take concrete action in the care and healing of children,” stated Mr. Bain.
