Enjoy! The Autumn Edition of Maritime Magazine (No. 114) is online

This autumn 2024 issue is packed with content of special interest to maritime/logistics stakeholders and shippers engaged in international markets.

Our annual major feature on North Atlantic trade reveals how the shifting global manufacturing landscape towards Southeast Asia favors increased trade through ports in Eastern Canada. Another annual feature report highlights how energy transition and infrastructure demands are driving considerable new project cargo and breakbulk activity through Canadian waterways and ports.

This issue also contains reports on two important conferences. Our West Coast correspondent Colin Laughlan outlined the many domestic and global supply chain perspectives that emerged from the Ports Canada 2024 gathering in September of more than 200 delegates at Port Alberni, British Columbia. Veteran journalist Julie Gedeon produced a highly-informative summary of the workforce challenges facing Canada’s marine industry at the inaugural Imagine Marine Conference. Staged in Ottawa in October, it was hosted by the Canadian Marine Careers Foundation in partnership with the Master Mariners of Canada.
